Search for a digital marketing agency Karachi results pages show something odd: almost no agency websites, mostly directory profiles and lists written by the agencies themselves. In a city of factories, ports and markets, buyers are left to judge on self-made claims. This guide takes the opposite route and explains, sector by sector, what we would actually do for a Karachi business.
For the record: Arb Digital is Pakistani, but it rents no space in Karachi. Karachi accounts are run remotely by our people elsewhere in Pakistan, sharing your clock, with Urdu available for any discussion.
Karachi at census scale
From Manghopir to Port Qasim is a drive of well over an hour, and every stretch of it is a different market. The PBS National Census Report 2023 counts Karachi city at 18.87 million people, by far the largest city in the country. Sindh as a whole recorded 1,385,170 establishments and a workforce of 5,713,319 in the Economic Census 2023.
For marketing, scale cuts both ways. Demand is deep in almost every category, but so is competition, and the city is too big to target as one audience. A clinic in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and a supplier in Korangi share a postcode prefix and nothing else. We split Karachi into areas and buyer types before spending anything.

Sector by sector: what a digital marketing agency Karachi buyers hire should do
Karachi's industrial zones run in a ring: SITE, Korangi, Landhi, North Karachi, Federal B Area and the Port Qasim industrial estate. Textiles lead, alongside food processing, leather, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, auto parts and printing. Each needs a different plan.
- Textile and leather exporters. Buyers are overseas sourcing teams who search in English for specific products, certifications and minimum orders. Product pages built for those searches, SEO, earned links from trade media and fast enquiry handling matter far more than local social posts.
- Industrial suppliers and B2B services. Procurement managers shortlist on Google. Tightly targeted Google Ads on product terms, with negative keywords to block job seekers and students, keep cost per lead under control.
- Retail and fashion. From Tariq Road and Saddar to Clifton malls, shoppers compare on Instagram and Daraz before they visit. Meta ads, catalogue sales and ecommerce SEO on category pages suit this group.
- Health, education and property. Patients, parents and home buyers check Google Maps and ask friends on WhatsApp. Complete profiles, honest landing pages and call tracking are the base.
How Karachi searches
Karachi traffic shapes search behaviour: people look things up on their phones while stuck on Shahrah-e-Faisal, then call when they arrive. From our work, the patterns are consistent:
- Area words matter. Searches include DHA, Gulshan, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad or Saddar, because nobody wants to cross the city for a service.
- English for business, Roman Urdu for daily life. B2B queries are mostly English. Consumer queries mix English and Urdu.
- WhatsApp closes the sale. A page without a WhatsApp button loses leads to one that has it.
- Proof decides. With so many small agencies and sellers, buyers look for a real registered company, a named person and examples of work.
We build Karachi campaigns around areas and intent, and we measure calls and chats, not impressions.
Exporters: tax, verification and what to check
Many Karachi firms sell services abroad as well as goods. Under the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, as amended by the Finance Act 2026, PSEB-registered exporters of software, IT and IT-enabled services pay a 0.25% final tax on export proceeds for tax years 2024 to 2029, while other service exports pay 1%, subject to filing conditions. Digital marketing is not named in the definition of IT-enabled services, so check with a tax adviser before relying on the lower rate. Registration starts at PSEB's Tech Destination.
Verification works both ways. Before you hire any agency, check its company record on the SECP's LEAP portal; ours is CUIN 0310402. The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry is another useful starting point for trade contacts and member services.
Advertising law that applies to Karachi campaigns
Karachi's property and consumer markets produce some of the boldest advertising in the country, and regulators have noticed. Under the Competition Act 2010, s.10 bans deceptive marketing practices, and the Competition Commission of Pakistan has penalised firms for misleading claims, including a 2025 order against a housing project whose ads were spread through digital and print media. Sindh's Consumer Protection Act 2014 also prohibits false or misleading representations about services.
For messaging, PECA 2016, amended in 2025, applies: s.25 defines unrequested promotional messages as spam and demands an unsubscribe mechanism, s.16 targets misuse of personal identifiers such as scraped CNIC or mobile lists, and s.26A addresses fake information. Comprehensive privacy legislation remains in draft. We write claims you can support, use opt-in lists and add opt-outs. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
Working together, and other Sindh guides
Karachi businesses often run late, but approvals still happen in office hours. We are reachable weekdays from nine in the morning until six in the evening, Pakistan time. An engagement opens with a complimentary audit, moves to an agreed roadmap and continues with a jargon-free report each month. Agreements roll over each month, and giving 30 days' warning stops them; bank transfer is our only payment route.
Selling inland too? Read our Hyderabad, Sindh guide and the Sukkur guide, or browse the Pakistan hub.
