Helsinki companies tend to make decisions on paper. So instead of a sales page, here is the memo we would expect a marketing lead to send her chief executive when the question of hiring a digital marketing agency Helsinki can rely on comes up. The company in it is imaginary: a forty-person B2B software firm in Kalasatama selling to Finnish municipalities and Nordic manufacturers.

We appear in the memo as one of the options, warts and all. Arb Digital serves Finnish clients remotely from Pakistan, without any office or staff in Helsinki, and the memo treats that as the trade-off it is.

Background: the market we are selling into

Statistics Finland recorded 694,392 residents in the City of Helsinki at the end of 2025, and the capital region around it holds most of Finland's head offices, public bodies and technology firms. Our buyers are a small, well-informed group: procurement officers, IT managers and operations directors who read carefully before they talk to anyone.

They search in Finnish for procurement and public-sector terms, in English for technical comparisons, and some in Swedish. They attend Slush and sector events, they read LinkedIn and they ask AI assistants for supplier shortlists. Any agency we hire must plan for all of that, not just for Google Ads.

Option A: a full-service agency in the city

For: people in the same room, native Finnish copywriting, long familiarity with public procurement language. Against: higher monthly commitment, longer contracts in some cases, and a risk that we pay for creative work we do not need.

Agencies in this group around Kamppi, Punavuori and Ruoholahti often bring strong design teams and access to video and events production. When we spoke to two of them, both proposed a brand refresh before any search work, which suggests their strengths lie elsewhere than our immediate need.

Verdict: right if our main gap were brand and creative. It is not. Our gap is search visibility and lead tracking.

Option B: a freelancer plus our own team

For: flexible and close at hand. Against: one person rarely covers technical SEO, content strategy and paid search equally well, and holidays or illness stop everything. We tried this last year; the blog grew, but conversion tracking was never fixed and nobody could say which channel produced meetings.

There is also a quieter cost. Our product managers spent hours explaining features to a writer who then left for a permanent role, taking that knowledge with him. Documentation would have prevented it, but nobody owned it.

Verdict: useful for Finnish copywriting alongside another option, not on its own.

Option C: a remote search and paid-media team (Arb Digital)

For: a team, not one person, covering technical SEO, content planning and Google Ads. No fixed term: monthly billing, cancellable on 30 days' notice. Accounts stay registered to us. A free audit first, so we see their work before committing.

Against: they are in Pakistan, so no face-to-face workshops, and they write in English only. Finnish and Swedish pages would need our freelancer or a translator, working from their keyword research and briefs. We would also need to be disciplined about written briefs.

On timing: Pakistan is UTC+5 and Helsinki is on Eastern European Time, which puts their clock three hours in front of ours from late October to late March and two hours in front for the rest of the year. Their 9am to 6pm working day equals about 6am to 3pm Helsinki time in the dark months and 7am to 4pm in the light ones, so our mornings overlap fully. Late-afternoon calls are possible by appointment.

Verdict: the strongest fit for the gap we actually have, combined with Option B for Finnish copy.

Risks to manage with any digital marketing agency Helsinki firms appoint

Consent and email law. The GDPR applies, and Finland's Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014) sets the national rules. Its chapter 24 treats direct marketing to individuals (Β§ 200) separately from marketing to organisations (Β§ 202), and Β§ 205 governs storing data on a user's device, which covers cookies. Whoever we hire must keep consumer and company contacts apart and configure a banner that genuinely blocks tags before consent. Neither we nor the agency are lawyers; edge cases go to counsel.

AI-written content. The EU AI Act's transparency obligations, set out in Article 50, became applicable on 2 August 2026. Any AI-assisted drafting must be reviewed and owned by a named editor before publication.

Measurement. Before spending anything, agree that the conversion that counts is a qualified meeting request, recorded in our own analytics.

Recommendation and next steps

Request the free audit from Option C and compare its findings with our own list of known problems. If the audit is specific and accurate, start a three-month trial focused on technical fixes, Finnish and English landing pages for our two main products, and a small LinkedIn and search campaign. Review in month three against meeting requests, not traffic.

In parallel, renew our membership of the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce, check the programmes listed by Helsinki Partners, and point newer colleagues starting side ventures to NewCo Helsinki. Reading for the team: our Finland guide and appearing in Google AI Overviews.

FAQ

Helsinki digital marketing FAQs

Is Arb Digital a Finnish company?
No. Arb Digital is a Pakistani-owned brand, and its team works remotely from Pakistan. We have no Helsinki office, local phone number or Finnish staff. Clients in the capital work with us through email and scheduled video calls in their morning, and they hold every account in their own company's name.
Who writes our Finnish and Swedish pages?
A native writer you choose, such as a freelancer or translator. We provide the keyword research, page plans and detailed briefs, write any English pages ourselves, and then check the finished Finnish or Swedish pages for structure, tagging and on-page optimisation before they go live.
Can you handle B2B lead generation for public-sector buyers?
We can support it with search visibility, content built around procurement questions, LinkedIn campaigns and clean conversion tracking. Formal tenders follow their own rules, so marketing helps you get noticed and shortlisted rather than replacing the bid process. We also keep email outreach within the Β§ 202 rules for organisations.
How long until a Helsinki B2B site sees results?
Technical fixes and tracking improvements show quickly, often within weeks. Organic rankings for specific Finnish or English B2B terms typically move within three to six months, and broader terms take longer. We never guarantee positions; the monthly report shows enquiries by channel so you can judge progress.
What should we expect from the free audit?
It covers indexing, mobile speed, Finnish, Swedish and English language tagging, consent configuration, structured data and the competitors appearing for your key searches, plus how AI assistants describe your company. You receive the findings as a brief ranked action list; it costs nothing, and hiring us afterwards is optional.
