Marbella sells to the world. Villa developers, golf resorts, beach clubs, clinics, yacht services and boutique shops along the Golden Mile and in Puerto Banús attract buyers from Britain, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, the Gulf and beyond. That makes choosing a marketing agency Marbella businesses rely on unusually tricky: the right partner has to handle English and several other buyer languages, international search habits and Spanish rules at the same time.
This page is a practical guide rather than a pitch. Arb Digital's specialists work remotely from Pakistan in English. We have no Costa del Sol desk, we do not meet clients in Marbella, and we explain below where that model helps and where it does not.
Marbella's company base, by INE figures
Spain's National Statistics Institute counts 20,829 active companies in the municipality of Marbella (INE DIRCE, 1 January 2025). The DIRCE sector split classes 4,678 of them under professional, scientific, technical and administrative services, while just 406 work in information and communications.
For a town of Marbella's size that is a dense, service-heavy economy. Agencies, legal and tax advisers, property consultants, interior designers, concierge firms and wellness practices all chase the same affluent, international audience. Generic marketing gets lost quickly; precise positioning by language, nationality and buyer stage is what wins attention.

Who searches for Marbella businesses, and how
Think of three overlapping audiences:
- Researchers abroad. A family in Stockholm or a buyer in London planning a home purchase, a long stay or treatment. They search months ahead, compare carefully and read in their own language or English.
- Visitors already here. Holidaymakers in San Pedro Alcántara or the Old Town looking for a restaurant, a boat trip or a dentist today, almost always on a phone and usually through maps.
- Residents. Spanish and international residents who search in Spanish or English for everyday services.
Each group needs different pages, different keywords and different timing. Many Marbella websites serve only the second group well and miss the high-value researchers entirely.
Search behaviour also differs by nationality. Scandinavian buyers often research in English before switching to their own language at the decision stage. British buyers compare areas such as Nueva Andalucía, Elviria and Benahavís by name. Gulf visitors tend to plan around specific hotels and clinics. Building a page for each serious buyer journey, rather than one generic homepage, is usually where the first meaningful gains come from, and it gives paid campaigns somewhere relevant to send traffic.
Checklist: what a marketing agency Marbella firms hire should cover
- Language plan. Which languages you publish in, with correct hreflang so Google shows the right version. Our hreflang generator helps with the markup.
- Listing quality. Property, villa and rental listings with unique descriptions instead of copied portal text.
- Map presence. A complete Google Business Profile in English and Spanish for anything visitors walk into.
- Season planning. Paid and organic calendars that start before the summer and winter-sun peaks.
- Lead handling. Fast replies to enquiries arriving from many time zones.
- Compliance. Cookie consent, email permissions and honest claims under Spanish and EU rules.
Remote specialist versus Costa del Sol studio
| Task | Local studio | Remote specialist (us) |
|---|---|---|
| Drone and villa photography | Yes | No |
| Events and launch parties | Yes | No |
| Multilingual site structure and SEO | Varies | Yes, English-led |
| Google Ads aimed at buyers abroad | Varies | Yes |
| Local SEO and maps | Yes | Yes |
Plenty of Marbella firms combine both: a local photographer and events team, with a remote specialist handling search, ads and the website. Read our audit guide to see what we check first, and which fixes usually come before any spending on ads.
Spanish rules that shape Marbella marketing
General information, not legal advice. Spain's telecoms law, Ley 11/2022, protects end users from commercial phone calls they never asked for, unless they agreed earlier or the caller holds some other GDPR basis. Ringing purchased lists of overseas buyers is therefore a poor bet. Commercial email and cookies are regulated by the LSSI and the GDPR, which in practice means opt-in forms and a working consent banner. Consumers can register on the Lista Robinson to refuse advertising, and the AEPD is the data protection regulator. EU consumer law also bans fake or commissioned customer praise, which matters in a market built on reputation.
Time zones and how we keep in touch
Marbella follows Central European Time like the rest of mainland Spain. From the end of October until late March our nine-to-six working day in Pakistan maps to about 5am until 2pm on the coast; through the Spanish summer, with the gap reduced to three hours, it maps to 6am until 3pm. Morning questions are answered the same day, and longer video calls are booked through [email protected].
You get a plain-English report every month. Contracts roll monthly, you can cancel with 30 days' notice, and payment is by bank transfer. The Málaga Chamber of Commerce supports businesses across the province. See our Spain overview or Barcelona guide, then request a free audit.
